Rescue

Snaring wildlife for bushmeat is a common practise in Africa. Snares are crude, indiscriminate killers and target all species leading to a very slow and painful death. We conduct de-snaring patrols, which is passive anti-poaching strategy that involves searching for snares, lifting them and destroying them and rescue trapped wildlife from snares.Snaring places extra pressure on already threatened species as well as threatening the function of the ecosystems. Snares can cause permanent mutilations and many cases of elephants have been seen with with constricted or severed trunks leaving them unable to feed.
